Yeo & Yeo Expands Southeast Michigan Presence Through Strategic Merger with BGL

Saginaw, Michigan-based Yeo & Yeo CPAs & Advisors, a well-established firm with FY23 net revenue of $44.1 million, has expanded its footprint in Southeast Michigan by merging with Berger Ghersi & LaDuke PLC (BGL) of Bloomfield Hills, Mich., effective July 1, 2024. This strategic merger enhances Yeo & Yeo's regional presence and service offerings, as the combined firm will continue to operate under the Yeo & Yeo name.

“We are excited to welcome BGL’s professionals to the Yeo & Yeo team,” said David Youngstrom, Yeo & Yeo’s president and CEO. “Together, our firms bring a remarkable 140 years of dedicated service to our clients. We share a deep commitment to building strong relationships and providing close personal attention to our clients, which will only be strengthened through this merger.”

Berger Ghersi & LaDuke PLC has been a prominent player in the accounting industry for over 40 years, known for delivering top-tier accounting, audit, tax, and consulting services. The firm has carved out a niche with its extensive expertise in the real estate industry, high-end tax planning and preparation, and retirement plan audits. Additionally, BGL is recognized for its specialization in peer reviews, a service that will now be newly introduced to Yeo & Yeo’s existing portfolio.

As part of the merger, BGL's leadership, including partners Alan LaDuke, David Berger, and Jim McAuliffe, will join Yeo & Yeo’s principal group. They will bring along a highly skilled team of nine accounting and administrative professionals, ensuring that the combined firm maintains the high standards of service that both Yeo & Yeo and BGL clients have come to expect.

“We are pleased to have found a partner in Yeo & Yeo that shares our values and commitment to helping clients succeed,” said Alan LaDuke. “As the accounting industry evolves and becomes more complex, this merger allows us to remain at the forefront, offering enhanced opportunities for our team and delivering even greater value to our clients.”

Looking to the future, Yeo & Yeo plans to establish a new, larger office location in Southeast Michigan. This new office will bring together the combined talents of 30 professionals from Yeo & Yeo’s current Auburn Hills office and the team from BGL, further solidifying the firm’s position in the region.
